چکیده

Objective: Fear of dental procedures is a common barrier to effective care. A promising technique overcome anxiety needle-free jet injection, which involves delivering local anaesthetic as high-speed capable penetrating the oral mucosa without needle. Previous efforts have used loud, uncontrolled injectors designed for transdermal delivery that failed achieve significant uptake in practice. Methods: In this work, we present and validate controllable injection device driven by silent electric motor anaesthetic. The injector includes novel tubular attachment at its distal end, allows be performed comfortably throughout mouth. expected pressure loss resulting from use analysed. This analysis predicted 75 mm long 0.53 radius would result negligible loss. To human tissue, system was perform 18 injections into mouths two Thiel-embalmed cadavers. These were visualised using cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT). Results: Benchtop testing prototype verified along attachment. CBCT scans demonstrated fluid successfully delivered desired locations, adjacent root apex teeth, every site. Conclusion: outcomes performance injector, demonstrating potential tool reduce anxiety. Clinical Translational Impact Statement- Our overcomes key limitations associated with previous attempts deliver needle-free. could greatly barriers

Dental trial of carbocaine; a new local anaesthetic.

A RECENT report from Scandinavia (Dhuner et al., 1956) describes a clinical trial of Carbocaine in which 652 cases were injected with results which the authors describe as raising " expectations that Carbocaine may prove to be of great value as a local anaesthetic drug." It was found that, when no adrenaline was used, anaesthesia lasted longer with Carbocaine than with lignocaine (Xylocaine), f...

Local anesthesia by jet-injection device in minor dermatologic surgery.

BACKGROUND Pain and needle-phobia can be a problem during the application of local anesthesia with syringe and needle. OBJECTIVE To evaluate a jet-injection device (without needle) to deliver local anesthesia. METHODS Two hundred and six minor dermatological procedures using a jet-injection device for administering local anesthesia into skin tissue were performed. We comment on the technica...

Anaesthetic in Reducing Injection Pain

59 backing, have come to assume the benefit afforded by these agents. Gill and Orr (1979) astonished the profession through their clinical trials which disclosed the absence of statistically significant difference in injection pain experienced by patients who were pretreated with topical anaesthetics and a placebo. This study was undertaken to confirm the validity or otherwise of the claim made...

Use of Pre-Injection Diffusion of Local Anaesthetic as a Means of Reducing Needle Penetration Discomfort.

AIM To determine if pre-injection diffusion of local anaesthetic solution influences the discomfort of needle penetration in the palate. METHODS A placebo-controlled, randomised, double-blind split-mouth investigation was conducted. 25 healthy adult volunteers were recruited and each received two needle penetrations in a random order during one visit. The penetration sites were 1 cm from the ...

Mechanism of extension of spinal anaesthesia by extradural injection of local anaesthetic.

We have examined the effect of extradual injection of 0.5% bupivacaine or normal saline on the progression of spinal anaesthesia in 28 patients undergoing Caesearean section. Three groups were studied. Subarachnoid anaesthesia was established in all patients. Group A (n = 10), the control, received no extradural injection for 20 min. Group B (n = 9) received extradural bupivacaine 10 ml and gro...
